Job Description:

The candidate will be head of the team to spearhead the design development of Metro rail projects. The  Chief Design Engineer, shall be responsible for checking/reviewing the designs of piles,  piers,  segmental  viaducts,  tunnels, PEB  Structures,  ROBs,  interchanges and any other structure to be constructed in the Metro  Rail  Project.   The  candidate  requires  to  interact  with  Systems Division dealing with AFC, S&T, OCC, Electrical Systems etc. to  take care of integration of Civil Structures with Systems.



I.
    PAY
ON  DEPUTATION
As drawn in the Parent Department., plus Allowances as admissible under BMRCL Rules


II       ON   CONTRACT

Salary commensurate with qualification and experience.

Besides the above,  medical and personal accident insurance  cover and reimbursement of outpatient  medical expenses as per BMRCL Rules will  be  provided.



 III. CONTRACT APPOINTMENT

1.  The Contract Appointment will be for 3 years.   .
2.  The contractual period of appointment may be terminated by either side by giving 30 days  notice or by paying the contractual remuneration of one month in lieu of notice period, if  the circumstances so warrant.

 IV. CONDITIONS

1.  Candidates who have appeared for   walk in interviews conducted by BMRCL for the above said posts on an earlier occasion   need not appear for the interview again unless there is a change in the eligibility criteria.
2.  Prescribed qualifications are the minimum requirements and mere possession of the same does not entitle candidates to be called for interview.
3.  The experience is post qualification and the minimum required.  Mere possession of minimum experience does not confer any right for interview / selection.
4.  Any canvassing by or on behalf of the candidates or to bring political or other outside influence with regard to selection/appointment shall be a disqualification.
5.  Selection will be by a Committee constituted by the Competent Authority.
6.  The candidates who are working with State Government Departments / Public Sector  Undertakings may attend the walk-in-interview and if the candidate is   selected, BMRCL will seek consent for deputation from the respective Organization.  In respect of candidates working in Central government / Central PSUs, they may attend the walk-in-interview, after obtaining prior permission from their respective Organizations.

V. SELECTION

1.  Candidates appearing for walk-in-interview  should  download application format attached, fill up the same and come along with  all the relevant certificates, testimonials as prescribed for the post in originals and one set of Photostat copies for verification.  After verification, the candidate has to submit a set of Photostat copies of verified certificates and testimonials.
2.  Any candidate found guilty of impersonation or submitting fabricated documents or making statements, which are false or incorrect or indulging in suppression of facts, attempts to use unfair means for the purpose of recruitment, will be liable for rejection.

3.  The candidate shall have to indicate his/her acceptance to  the offer within fifteen days from the receipt of offer, if not, next candidate in order of merit will be offered the appointment on similar  lines.    However,  the  Competent  Authority  may grant  such  extension of time depending upon the exigencies.

4.  The candidates shall have to appear for interview at their own cost.



VI. MISCELLANEOUS

1.  Documents in support of qualification and relevant experience shall be submitted along  with the Resume at the time of interview. Non-submission of documents along with the Resume,  will  lead  to  rejection  of  candidature  at  any  stage  during  the process of recruitment.

2.  BMRCL shall not be liable for any damage / injury / loss to the individual, if any, sustained during the entire recruitment process and journey.

3.  Management reserves the right to assess fitness or otherwise of the candidates selected.

VII. TIME & DATE OF WALK-IN-INTERVIEW


Interviews for all the posts specified above will be held at BMRCL Head Office at 3rd Floor, BMTC Complex, K.H. Road, Shanthinagar, Bangalore-560 027 on 22nd, 23rd, 29th and 30th November 2013 between  3.00 PM and 6.00 PM.

Remuneration

Consolidated pay of  ` 14000/-pm. In addition, the workmen are eligible for compensation for actual extra hours of work undertaken, however limited to maximum ` 4200/- pm.

Period of Contract

The period of contract will be two years.

Age:

Age shall not exceed 35 years as on 30 Nov 2013 relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC and 10 years for PWD. Further, age relaxation will be considered in the case of candidates having experience for more than 4 years in a Shipyard or Engineering Company provided they meet the qualification requirements, at the discretion of Cochin Shipyard Ltd.

Method of Selection

Walk in interview and practical test will be conducted from 0900 Hrs to 1300 hrs beginning 
from 16th Dec 2013 to 21st Dec 2013 at Cochin Shipyard Indoor Court, Thevara. The above is 
tentative schedule and may vary depending upon receipt of application through online and other administrative grounds. Date of interview/practical test will be intimated through SMS/email to short-listed candidates. Only such candidates who are short-listed and intimated need to appear for the interview.

General

Govt. of India guidelines on reservation for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates as applicable will be followed.

Experience obtained after acquiring the qualification (NAC) will only be considered. Applicants meeting  the eligibility  requirements  and  short  listed  only  will  be  allowed  to  appear  for Interview/test.  Candidates are  advised  to  make  sure  that  they  are  meeting  the  eligibility requirements before submitting applications through online.

Candidates should bring online application print out, original certificates towards proof of age, qualification, experience, caste, a photo-identity card (in original) and address proof etc and attested copies of certificates, and their candidature will be considered on the strength of those certificates. If at any stage it is found that any information furnished is false/incorrect or the candidate does not satisfy the eligibility criteria, the candidature/appointment is liable to be cancelled/rejected.  No  correspondence  regarding  the  rejection  of candidature  in  case  of ineligibility will be entertained.

The vacancies are purely on contract basis for a specific period of two years and Cochin Shipyard is not liable to offer appointment during or after the completion of contract period of the selected candidates.

Candidates employed in Govt. / Semi Govt. / Autonomous bodies should obtain No Objection Certificate from their employer and produce the same at the time of interview failing which they  will not be permitted to attend the interview.

The candidates shortlisted for interview should bring the following:

Two copies of recent passport size photographs.

Original  Certificates  and  testimonials,  in  proof  of  age/date  of  birth,  educational qualifications, experience etc and attested copies of the certificates.

Caste certificate in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/ Non-creamy layer certificate in the case of OBC and Disability Certificate issued by the Medical Board in the case of Persons with Disabilities.

Tight fitting cotton working dress and safety shoes for attending the practical test.

Only those candidates who have passed SSLC and ITI in the relevant trade and possessing National Apprenticeship certificate with required post qualification experience need apply and attend the interview. Applicants who fail to produce the original certificates will not be allowed to attend the interview/practical test.

No application fee is required.

Any legal proceedings in respect of any claim or dispute arising out of this advertisement and/or an application in response thereto can be instituted only in the Courts/Tribunals/Forums at Kochi shall have sole and exclusive jurisdiction.
