Windows Position Description:
Looking for a Windows Client Server Configuration Manager / Developer to script, test, migrate, and troubleshoot Commercial-off-the-Shelf (COTS) and proprietary software specific to the client’s Windows (client-server) environment. Use of Microsoft Configuration Manager will be required, along with scripting packages and applications for deployment through.
- Develop custom object-oriented computer programs/applications using languages like JAVA, C, C#, C++, XML, HTML, PowerShell, SQL, VB script, java script or .NET technology for an enterprise environment that install in a silent and automated fashion without any user interaction
- Migrate, install, and troubleshooting 32-bit or 64-bit Windows (client-server) software applications using Microsoft Configuration Manager;
- Develop scripts or packaging application software using Wise installer or Install Shield technology to support Windows (client-server) software installations and migration activities for Microsoft Configuration Manager
- Create packages, collections, and advertisements for software distribution using Microsoft Configuration Manager
- Write SQL/MS SQL queries using Microsoft Configuration Manager for the purpose of migrating software or creating ad hoc reports
- Troubleshoot non-successful software deployments/installations or Microsoft Configuration Manager software distribution infrastructure for a Windows (client-server) environment
- Set up integration test lab space for troubleshooting hardware and software issues
- Provide second and third-level production support to users with problems pertaining to software downloads and the ability to provide said support remotely
- Create, maintain, and update incident management records
- Monitor software deployment statistics
- Update Online Software Release Form (OSRF) for application lifecycle tracking purposes
- Write extensive documentation for software application, computer programs or scripts
Top 3 skills required to be successful in role:
- Development / scripting with PowerShell, VB Script and .NET
- Microsoft Configuration Manager
- Writing and executing SQL queries
- Strong communication and analytical skills
Secondary skills:
- Object-oriented programming, such as Java
- Wise installer or Install Shield
Certifications:
- SCCM certification a plus
- Public Trust 85P Approval required
