Essential:

Bachelor’s degree in
Engineering from a recognised
university or equivalent with at least first class (60%)
in
any
specified subject/relevant area
with one year
of
relevant
experience;
Relevant/Specified Subject/Relevant area:
Marine
Engineering, Naval Architecture &
Marine
Engineering, Marine
Technology / Mechanical
Engineering with
specialization in Marine Engineering,
Ship
Machinery & Systems,
Thermal Engineering,
Machine Design, Structural Engineering, Robotics, Solid
Mechanics,
Fluid Mechanics.
Relevant Experience:
Experience
in Design/Construction of Ship's machinery &
systems in a
design organization/shipyard or
Plan
approval functions in specified subject/relevant area in
a
classification society/statutory bodies. OR Teaching and
Research in an
academic
Institution/Research &
Development Laboratory in the field of Ship systems etc.
OR at
least 1 year of
sea service as
engineer in
Operational level (as defined in STCW Convention as
amended) on foreign going ships with MEO Class IV
(motor)
certificate of Competency or equivalent.
Desirable:
1. Candidates
possessing a masters degree in engineering
with at least ( 55%) marks in specified subject /
relevant
area
will be considered if they possess
a.
Bachelor’s degree
in Engineering from
a
recognised
university with at
least first class
(60%)
and
b. One year of
relevant experience
2. Should be
familiar with machinery
& system design
codes & standards.
